Hello everyone, this week we have something really exciting happening in Nanaimo on June 14th. We have the multicultural festival in the Old City Quarter! It’s happening from 10:30am to 3:30pm. The event is free and celebrates the diversity of our community. There will be an international food fair including foods from Thirsty Camel, Red Rhino, Hungry Rooster, Pho-A-Dong, The Queens, and McLean’s Specialty Foods. There is also live entertainment including a Chinese Lion Dance, Latin fit, Celtic Fiddlers, Ukrainian Dancers, Mediterranean Dancers and many many more.
According to Festival Manager Alexandria Stuart, “We’re looking forward to a record number of interactive information booths and demonstrations. This full-day event is always a big crowd pleaser and we’re excited that our partnerships in the community will add so much to this year’s event.”
The Old City Quarter is located just up from the waterfront off of Fitzwilliam Street on Wesley, It can be accessed from exit 18 off of the Parkway Highway. If you’re down town follow Bastion Street up from the waterfront to the sounds of celebration on Wesley Street..
Come and spend the day taking in the festival and exploring the Old City Quarter, After the festival walk to one of Nanaimo’s many ethnic restaurants to dine out. Right in the Old City Quarter there is Asteras Greek Taverna, Pho-A-Dong, Bistro Taiyo, Delicados and more.
