This is our second instalment of exploring the Cedar Yellow Point Artisan Trail with Sarah & Sean!capture

You can read the first part (here!). In part two we go to Kiwi Cove Lodge, JoVic Potter, Fredrich’s Honey, and Yellow Point Stained & Art Glass Studio.

Kiwi Cove Lodge

Kiwi Cove Lodge is set in a bay on an enchanting waterfront property. It is a getaway accommodation that has everything you could think of for a relaxing time. The grounds are absolutely beautiful – nestled in one of the more picturesque areas. And yes, it really is a kiwi farm on Vancouver Island! The climate is just right in this particular area.

Kiwi Cove Lodge has 12 rooms plus a cottage. It also has a hot tub overlooking the kiwis, walkways, a beach and much more. Come for a night or bring your whole family or group for a retreat!

JoVic Pottery

Along Shell Beach Road you will find the lovely JoVic Pottery. We were lucky enough to get a little demonstration from Vic when we walked in on a particularly nifty painting technique. It was fascinating and lent itself to the whole experience.

JoVic pottery has gorgeous quality stoneware, raku art and functional pottery by the master potters Jo and Vic Duffhues. The store is so interesting and houses many gorgeous pieces to look at and choose from. When we were there we were lucky enough to run into some visitors from Seattle. They were on their boats and decided to come ashore to check out JoVic’s pottery. We chatted with them and they chuckled when they realized that we were (in their words, “Ouut and Abooout” today on the Cedar Yellow Point Artisan Trail.

Fredrich’s Honey

Next we stopped at Fredrich’s Honey. This farm is family owned and operated and they have been producing honey on Vancouver Island since 1966. They have an amazing shop that allows you to see all the fruits of the bee’s labour. From beeswax candles to wildflower honey and soap to blackberry honey there is something for everyone. The smell is intoxicating and fresh when you walk in the shop. If you’re looking for a more green alternative bring a container of your own and you can fill it up and buy it that way.

This studio is such a pleasant stop! You are invited to take in a little of the gardens and enjoy the bustling animals that adorn the farm. We were greeted by small puppy dogs (so cute) and even got a glimpse of the illustrious geese flock that watch out for everyone on the hobby farm.

The studio is beautiful in an of itself as well. Filled with glass blown treasures and home decorations it fills you with a sense of wonder and tranquility.
