Now that we are getting into the full swing of summer, and so is the weather, I decided to hop into my car and explore the Cedar Yellow Point Trail for myself! The Cedar Yellow Point area is one of my favourites and now, with the trail, you can explore the beauty of the area as well as the local artists and artisans, fifteen of them in fact!
After a day of driving around Cedar and Yellow Point and jumping in and out of the car from stop to stop, made us in need for a drink and a bite to eat!
There are a couple pubs in Cedar that make a nice stop on a relaxing day.
The first is the Crow and Gate pub! The Crow and Gate pub is a English style pub in a beautiful country field and was one of the first neighbourhood pubs in the province! Enjoy a draft beer or cider in a charming old English cottage with a hearty plate of food!
I shared a plate of the fresh pan fried oysters, which are locally produced and harvested!
And if our weather cools down again, fingers crossed it won’t, you can head inside and curl up in front of their huge stone fireplace.
The second pub in Cedar is the Wheatsheaf inn. The Wheatsheaf Inn is the oldest pub in Cedar it has been in operation since the 1880’s! A classic neighbourhood style pub, with a great menu full of good comforting food!
These are our favourite places to stop for a bite to eat in Cedar! Where are yours?
