There were an estimated 4,000 athletes and spectators who came to Nanaimo for the BC Games! Wow! Hopefully you were able to make it out to a few of the events, but if not, we’ve compiled a few shots, taken by local volunteers, that will hopefully capture the excitement and fun of this past weekend.

The Tourism Nanaimo tent was on site at the Nanaimo Ice Centre, and we had a lot of great feedback from families of the athletes who complimented Nanaimo on the execution of the Games, and our beautiful city. Hopefully they were impressed enough to come back and visit!

Vancouver Island-Central Coast showed an impressive performance, earning 75 gold medals, 56 silver, and 52 bronze – they came in second overall after the Fraser Valley! Way to represent! To view the final results, head here!

If you’d like to relive all the action, head to the BC Games website to read up on all the action.

Were you able to catch some of the events? What was your highlight of the weekend?! Let us know in the comments below!
