What’s Up This Week: September 15 – 21, 2015

Featured Event: Shakespeare by The Sea (Hamlet and The Tempest), September 19-21, (Saturday through Monday)

This event is making its debut in Nanaimo this year. See Shakespeare like you’ve never seen before, updated to modern dress, while still maintaining its original language. Words will fly, battles will be had, and tragedy and comedy will capture your attention beneath the sky, entertained by Vancouver Island Shakespeare Arts performers. It’s a theatre performance you will remember. There are two shows daily 2pm and 7pm. TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 15th 

10:30am: Classical Coffee Concert Series with Sarah Hagen and Ariel Barnes, Port Theatre Lobby, $27.50/adult. Listen to internationally acclaimed classical pianist Sarah Hagen and cellist Ariel Barnes in this intimate concert series in the Port Theatre Lobby. Enjoy some coffee and treats, and start your day with a little music and good company.

10:00-11:00am: NS3’s Science Studio (Drop-In), 3004 Departure Bay Road Nanaimo, B.C, $4/child (adults free). The Nanaimo Science and Sustainability Society opens their Science Studio to visitors during the fall. Bring your kids and let them discover how cool science can be! Hands on and in a kid-friendly atmosphere. (see schedule below)
