Happy Fall Y’all! Or as some of us call it…Pumpkin Spice Season!
Yes, I am that classic girl who loves her PSL’s. However, minus the Ugg Boots and add the Hunter Rain Boots (this is the west coast!) So being Pumpkin Spice Season, I went hunting around Nanaimo for Pumpkin Spice items. Nanaimo did not disappoint!
I’ll start off with the obvious…Pumpkin Spice Latte. I got this fall classic from Perkins Coffee. This latte isn’t too sweet, just the perfect amount of pumpkin spice…and of course, coffee. They also had some delicious shortbread…not pumpkin spiced, but adorably pumpkin decorated!
Next stop on my hunt was in treat form. This was like a hybrid, Cinnamon Bun + Pumpkin Pie = Heaven. That’s right, a Pumpkin Pie Cinnamon Bun from Cinnamon Joes. This literally tastes like a Cinnamon Bun with a slice of Pumpkin Pie on top…yum!
To wash that Pumpkin Pie Cinnamon Bun down, I grabbed a bottle of Longwood Brewery’s Pumpkin Patch Beer. Yes, you read that right, Pumpkin Beer! Now talk about festive. After trotting around in McNabs Corn Maze and pumpkin patch, this is a perfect end to the day (or after a long week of midterms for me!).
Next on my list was chocolate. Because, being fall that means Halloween…and well Halloween means tons of treats. I stopped in at Cherub Chocolate after talking to the owner at Feastival. They have some delicious Ginger Pumpkin Spice chocolates with adorable little ghosts on them…or should I say spooky!
And finally…this would not be a true Nanaimo list without a Nanaimo Bar! At Java Expressions they have a ton of specialty Nanaimo Bars and I knew they wouldn’t disappoint when I went in for a Pumpkin Pie one. The mix of these two classic desserts can’t be beat!
