Feb 26-28: 15th Annual Maple Sugar Festival du Sucre d’Erable, Beban Social Centre, $3-5

Nanaimo pulsates with the rhythm of the Maple Sugar Festival du Sucre d’Érable. This festival is a bilingual event inspired by eastern Canada’s sugar shack traditions. The three day event includes a variety of activities, exciting performances by a diverse range of musicians, dancers, and street entertainers, traditional French Canadian food fare. The Nanaimo African Heritage Society brings African vocalist Ezra Kwizera back to the stage with his band for their wonderful Finale Dinner and Dance Gala. Other featured artists are TEDX performers Valerie Mason John and Adelene da Soul Poet aka Bertha Clark. Come and join in celebrating Black History Month.
