Festival Nanaimo is also featuring Signature Events throughout the month. On March 7th at the Port Theatre be sure to check out Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra. This group is back by popular demand. Tafelmusik will take you on a magical journey to the meeting places of baroque art and music—five European homes where exquisite works by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi and Marais were played against a backdrop of paintings by Vermeer, Canaletto, and Watteau. An extra cool part of this show is that Nanaimo-born violinist Aisslinn Nosky is performing. She trained at our own Nanaimo Conservatory of Music. Check out http://www.festivalnanaimo.com/tafelmusik.html for more information. Here is a taste of what they will perform.
I also want to let you know that with the Signature Events, Festival Nanaimo has a coupon: Book two shows and save $10. These shows are: Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra (as written about above), Barrage 8, De Danann, and The Glenn Miller Orchestra.
I encourage you all to go see all that is happening at www.festivalnanaimo.com.
